Our Spanish language school, officially registered as Fuertelingua Escuela de Español, is a certified Bildungsurlaub institution. You may choose to enrol in either a 5-day or a 10-day course: “Spanisch Sprachkurs A1 – 5 Tage“ & “Spanisch Sprachkurs A2 – 5 Tage“.

Located in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, we combine high-quality Spanish language tuition with optional surfing or kitesurfing, allowing you to experience the island’s unique lifestyle while making the most of your educational leave.

Our programs strike the right balance between learning, sport, and downtime. Whether you’re focused on professional development or simply want to dive deeper into the Spanish language, we’ll help you reach your goals — all while enjoying the sun and nature of the Canary Islands.

What is educational leave?

In Germany, employees are entitled to educational leave (Bildungsurlaub) — paid time off to attend approved courses like language programs. Our Spanish courses are officially certified across many Federal States, so you can use them for your Bildungsurlaub.

Total hours of tuition

The required number of tuition hours varies depending on the regulations of each German Federal State, ranging from 22.5 to 30 hours per week.

If you would like to enjoy water sports activities with us, such as surfing, we will carefully coordinate your Spanish lessons and surf sessions, allowing you to make the most of both your learning experience and your time in the water in Fuerteventura!

  2. Receive documents – If the dates work, we’ll send you all the paperwork you need to apply for Bildungsurlaub and reserve your spot — again, with no obligation.
  3. Confirm your booking – Once your employer approves your Bildungsurlaub break, we’ll share with you the booking steps to welcome you to sunny Fuerteventura!
  4. Get certified – At the end of your course, you’ll receive your official Bildungsurlaub certificate for your employer.
